Clean-up
*) Back-up - Cleanup - Remove - Update -
1) Always Back-up First
To an External USB Drive (200GB only cost $79 -
500GB $139)
2) Delete All Temp files
Internet Explorer - Tools - Internet Options
General Tab -
Temporary Internet files -
Temporary Internet
files Delete Files & Cookies
Settings - Set
Amount of Space to 1 MB for DSL users
(otherwise 10 MB is enough)
Check These Folders
with the Windows Explorer (File Manager):
Delete all these Files under these folders, not the Folders.
C:\Windows\TEMP
C:\Documents and
Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp
3) Run
Stinger Free from Network Associates
The Stinger looks for the Top Virus & worms
of the day so
you'll need to download it each time you
run it (Weekly or Monthly)
4A) Run
SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition
This is the latest and greatest
in the ever mounting war against: Adware, Malware, Virus, Trojans & RootKits.
There is a Pro version that cost about $20 to $39. You should run this
several time until it reports that you're all clean.
You may need to run one or both of the next two software, sometimes
the bad guys hide them self to one of these removal tools so you'll
need to re check with more than one cleaner.
4B) Run

Ad-Aware the first time, use this link for a safety
When you Google.com
Ad-Aware you get a lot of links to pretenders.
When using Ad-Aware
Always Update first
Look to the lower right
corner for the Update Button & Start Button
Remove - Rerun 2 or 3 time until it shows All Zeros (0)
4C) Run
Spybot
- Search & Destroy

Free AVG Antivirus software Website This is the only free Anti
Virus Software I recommend.
Some times you need to turn off the "System Restore" off &/or Run in
"Safe Mode" if the above doesn't solve the problem. Then do all the
above again.
6) MS Updates - Internet Explorer - Tools - Windows Updates
7) Back-UP - Again
8) Defrag - Right Click on the Drive - Properties - Tools - Defrag
9) Create Restore Point - Start - Help - Restore Point
If this doesn't solve your problems you may need to remove the hard
drive from
